Wondershare

Our culture today seems determined to pull families apart, but here at Calvary Fellowship Church we believe in the family as God intended.  With the ministries offered, we equip families with support and training strategies to develop godly life skills.

Who:   Age 4 through 5th Grade
What: Biblically based life skills educational support group
Where:  CFC
When: Monday nights January 14th through April 14 - New sessions begin January and September
Why:  To address the needs of children when they go through changes in their lives
How:  Using the Confident Kids Curriculum.  This bible based program will help families learn how to navigate life God's way! Fourteen active learning sessions teach and apply how to:

  • Experience God's love from trained staff.
  • Learn biblical, positive ways to think and talk through tough times
  • Acknowledge pain, denial, guilt and anger
  • Understand those feelings
  • Feel competent and confident enough to communicate those feelings to God & others
  • Regain their self esteem to lead a healthy life

The theme for winter/spring is Growing Throguh Changes.  "Nothing Stays the Same Forever ."  Children and parents learn to deal with the significant changes in their lives by grieving the losses that occur when things changes. They learn to identify and manage the six stages of grief: Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, Acceptance and Hope.   Biblical accounts of Joseph, who dealt with many changes throughout his lifetime, encourage children to trust in God's plan for their lives even through the most difficult and confusing times of change.   Winter/Spring 2008
