MINISTRY PHILOSOPHY
The Assimilation Ministry exists to create a welcoming and informative environment for newcomers and regular attendees that will encourage them in developing friendships, regular worship attendance and early ministry involvement. Hebrews 10:24
We lift people’s spirits as they come to church on Sunday by welcoming them and providing helpful information. We help people with everything from finding parking spots and classroom locations to making them aware of ministry events or directing them to the right individual.
MINISTRY PASSION
Our passion is for ministering to those who are in need...it is like giving a glass of cool clear water to a marathoner. The needs may be as simple as needing to know what classroom their child is in, or what the High School ministry has planned this week, or whether there a small group near their home? These simple uncertainties, in the minds of newcomers and guests, create obstacles to feeling comfortable and having a restful spirit. Our desire is to create a refreshing, inviting and peaceful environment for those who are unfamiliar with church or Calvary. This is accomplished by personally connecting with people in small ways…such as offering a smile and a handshake. We believe these acts of kindness encourage openness to hearing what God will say to them throughout their Sunday morning experience.
MINISTRY PROGRAMS
Newcomer Luncheons and Desserts - These events provide the opportunity for newcomers to get to know several of our pastors, ministry leaders and church members, as well as get an insightful look into the ministries of Calvary Fellowship.
Parking Lot Attendants - These individuals assist in the flow of traffic, maintain safety and direct people into the closest parking spots available.
Greeters - These volunteers welcome all who come with a smile and a friendly handshake as they walk in the lobby doors and answer any general information questions.
Information Booths - Two booths in the church contain the most recent information concerning all of Calvary’s ministries. These booths are the communication hub for all inquiries between the services and can address more detailed information requests than our Greeters commonly do.
Guest Table - Those who work at this table provide a gift for our guests. This table is manned by men and women who relationally connect with our guests on a slightly more personal level.
Guest Follow-up - These volunteers contact, via a phone call, those who stopped by the Guest table and dropped off an information card or requested additional information. Our goal in these calls is address any further questions that may have arisen since they spoke or dropped off a card at the Guest Table. Additionally, ministries will contact guests to provide ministry-specific materials.
MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES
Opportunities in all of the above programs are available at this time. An Assimilation Director (individual or couple) position is also open - to coordinate the leaders over all of the assimilation ministry areas and to develop the training skills for leadership and expansion of the ministry.
