What are services like at Calvary?

All of our Sunday morning services can be described as warm and welcoming. The music is celebrative, blending new arrangements of classic hymns with fresh new songs of thanksgiving and praise. Modern, upbeat, casual and intimate, the services on Sunday mornings are filled with songs of praise, prayer, scripture reading and dynamic teaching of God's Word.

The Sunday evening Bridge service is a group of young adults, all passionate to present The Truth in a relevant way. You might call this a contemporary service. It was created by and for young adults. (but everyone from all generations are welcome) The music is generally loud, and the lights low. We preach straight from the Good Book, it is the foundation of everything we believe and do.

What does it mean to be baptized?

Baptism is the outward expression of an inward decision to follow Jesus Christ. It is the first step of obedience in one's relationship with Jesus Christ, and is an ordinance of the church by which a person publicly identifies oneself with Jesus Christ. It does not save you nor does it complete your salvation, rather it is a symbolic illustration of the forgiveness and cleansing that Christ provided for you in His death and resurrection. Therefore baptism follows one's profession of faith in Jesus Christ. During one's baptism the officiating minister makes the following statement:

"In imitation of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and in obedience to His divine command, I baptize you [your name] in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit…buried with Christ unto death [you are immersed], rise to walk in newness of life [you are brought out of the water]."
